Big win for Jubilee after the new polls
The poll was conducted in Embu, Migori, Bungoma, Turkana and Nyandarua counties focused on determining the most popular candidate in the gubernatorial race.
According to the findings, Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka - who recently decamped to Jubilee - is leading with 52 percent support ahead of his main contender Wycliffe Wangamati (31 percent) vying on a Ford-Kenya ticket.
Embu Governor Martin Wambora has a total of 48.4 percent support while the county’s Senator, Lenny Kivuti garnered 26.2 percent support.
Mr Kivuti is seeking the seat on a Maendeleo Chap Chap party ticket after quitting Jubilee.
If the elections were to be held today, Nyandarua Governor Daniel Waithaka (9.3 percent) would be sent home packing by former Cabinet Secretary Francis Francis Kimemia who garnered 66.7 percent support.
However, the poll further showed that Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok received massive support of 77.7 percent of the population.
The ODM affiliated Governor was ahead of Jubilee’s candidate and Senator John Munyes who got 14.3 percent.
In Migori County, Governor Okoth Obado has the support of 71.9 percent of the residents while his main rival Ochilo Ayacko has 20.7 percent support.
Mr Ayacko lost to Obado during the ODM nominations and opted to vie as an independent candidate.
