While making the announcement on Wednesday morning, Health CS Cleophas Mailu stated that the two hotels are said to have offered catering services at events attended by participants who were later hospitalised after developing cholera-related symptoms.
Mailu said the establishments will not be allowed to operate until their staff are certified to be free of cholera.
The CS has also ordered all food handlers to be re-tested and re-certified, vowing to continue with crackdown on markets and restaurants that risk health during the cholera outbreak.
According to Dr.Mailu, only four fatalities have been reported since the outbreak and 67 people admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital and 12 other facilities, with treatment centers to be set up ib Mathare, Mukuru kwa Njenga, Kawangware and Kibra.
