Joe Mwangi sent to jail after gymnast Wendy Waeni's mother filed new complaint on threats

Talent manager Joe Mwangi was on Tuesday sent to jail for five days following his arrest earlier in the day.

DPP had wanted to have the man detained for seven days to allow for investigations into claims that he had threatened the mother to his former client Wendy Waeni.

Joe was arrested on Tuesday morning after members of the public assisted DCI operatives to track his whereabouts.

It is alleged that the suspect's phones were all switched off moments after the warrant of his arrest was issued.

"Mr Joseph Mwangi Nduta alias Joe is in our custody. He will be charged appropriately once necessary police process is complete. We thank everyone that shared information on his whereabouts," a statement from DCI outlined.

Charges against Joe Mwangi, Wendy Waeni's ex-manager

The primary charge against Joe is forging a letter from the Ministry of Interior purporting that it was from the Cabinet Secretary.

Earlier on in August, Wendy Waeni accused him of having refused to give her access to her social media accounts.

She also mentioned that there are funds that he had pocketed for some of her international performances.

Wendy's accusations were, however, not recorded in the complaint her mother filed.
