He put the knife in her hand to make it look like suicide

24-year-old Prison Warder Pauline Wangari who was found murdered in Kiharu, Murang'a County

One Joseph Ochieng, 24, has admitted to killing Murang'a Prison warder Pauline Wangari in her apartment in Kiharu Estate.

Ochieng' had traveled to Murang'a from Nairobi to meet Wangari for the first time after they met on Facebook.

In his confession, Ochieng' told detectives that he strangled Wangari after she refused to take some narcotics he had brought to her from Nairobi.

The shocking confession further detailed how Wangari dropped to the floor after being strangled and a startled Ochieng' proceeded to inflict knife wounds on her to make it appear like she had committed suicide.

According to the suspect, he and Wangari had intercourse before the altercation that led to her death.

Ochieng' was arrested in a vehicle at a police road block in Kericho County while heading to Kisumu.

The car belongs to one Mary Amollo Olisa who was arrested along with another man, Rogers Namukura who was found in the car with the prime suspect.

He also confessed to stealing from the deceased woman's apartment and attempting to sell her TV.

Wangari's known boyfriend Peterson Njiru was arrested on Thursday but was released after the confession to DCI officers.
