Murdered Murang'a GK Prison warder Pauline Wangari and Peterson Njiru who was arrested in connection with the murder

Police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of Murang'a GK Prison warder Pauline Wangari.

One Peterson Njiru was arraigned in court on Thursday where the judge ruled to have him detained for 14 days to allow for investigations to be completed.

Earlier, Murang’a County Police Commander Josphat Kinyua had revealed that CCTV footage had been recovered from the building owner.

According to the reviewed footage, a man with a tattoo at the back of his ear was seen leaving Pauline's apartment on Monday evening, the night she was supposedly killed.

Police added that the man was seen carrying a bag as he left the apartment yet he had not been seen entering the house with a bag when Pauline opened the door for him.

Police were yet to confirm whether the man presented in court was the same man seen on the CCTV clip.

Pauline's body was found in her apartment on Wednesday after colleagues raised alarm that she had missed work for two days.

The body had visible stab wounds on the chest, stomach and head and was beginning to decompose leading the investigators to believe that she may have been killed on Monday night.
