Vocal human rights activist Boniface Mwangi conceded defeat in the wee hours of Wednesday morning after his competitor Charles Njagua popularly known as Jaguar took a commanding lead in the Starehe Parliamentary race.
At the time of issuing the statement, Jaguar had garnered 68 percent of the Starehe votes.
The activist, who was vying on his Ukweli Party ticket, thanked Kenyans for the support they gave him during his campaigns.
“I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who supported me in this race. My campaign team, who worked day and night to ensure we got this far,” he said.
Mwangi went further to wish his rival success stating: “To the Starehe MP-elect, l wish you all the best. God bless you and God bless Kenya”.
