Kenyan voters went to the polls on August 8th to elect their respective leaders from the President to the Member of County Assembly.
Among the aspirants wishing to be elected to the 12th parliament were two legislatures who come from different locations in Kenya but are ‘lovebirds’ after serving in the 11th parliament.
Early this year, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, Kipchumba Murkomen was caught ‘pants down’ salivating on the beautiful nominated Samburu Senator Naisula Lesuuda.
Their affair came out in the open after a local daily leaked their hot spicy whatsapp messages online and Kenyans in their true nature savagely trolled the pair and even created an hashtag #MURKOMENWEDSLESUUDA.

In the hot spicy exchange, Murkomen a vocal supporter of Jubilee and rather eloquent was seen struggling to express his admiration and love for the beautiful baby-faced former news anchor.
“Your company and presence means a lot to me than anything else and your giggles and you telling me ‘hajana nayo...” reads part of their steamy conversation.
To which, Naisula warmly reciprocated Murkomen's feeling in the true spirit of ‘Ushikwapo Shikamana’ and referred to him as ‘babes’ in there Skype conversation where they are captured in bed in the screen shots acquired by the paper.
Once campaign season kicked in, Murkomen moved to defend his seat and at one point seemed like he would lose it after he came under siege after the former police inspector general David Kimaiyo also threw his hat on the ring.
On the far end, Naisula was also having her share of battles, having declared her interest to vie for Samburu West parliamentary seat, she was at one point forced to cut short her live radio interview and flee for her dear life after a group of rowdy youths stormed Serian Radio, 88.9FM premises and demanded she stopped addressing the locals or else they will burn down the premises.
Come 8th August residents of Keiyo and Samburu went to the polls to decide the fate of the two legislatures, would they be forever joined in parliament or cast asunder?
According to IEBC results, Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen running on a Jubilee ticket managed to garner 116 098 votes (80.16%) to secure another term in senate.
Josephine Naisula Lesuuda running on Kenya’s grand old party, KANU on her hand garnered 14 561 votes (50.37%) to be declared the winner.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank the Almighty God for victory… I call upon my supporters to celebrate without dividing our people more, forgiving and forgetting on all that was said and done that may have discouraged us.” Lesuuda posted on Facebook moments after receiving her certificate.
Clearly in these tense moments, Kenyans should emulate the two legislatures and ‘make love not war’ or what do you think?
