Former Citizen TV news anchor Kanze Dena conducted her maiden public assignment at State House today.
Dena in her new role as the State House Deputy Spokesman and Deputy Head of Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU), held a press conference at the House on the Hill donned in a navy blue trouser suit.
She updated journalists on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s diary for the rest of the week. As per the itinerary, the Head of State will on Thursday (tomorrow) fly to Addis Ababa , Ethiopia for the IGAD meeting.
The presser was a bit different from those made by State House spokesperson Manoah Esipisu, who mostly uses the English language in his addresses.
On her part, Kanze gave the briefing a flair of her own personality by using Swahili, which she anchored in for the last 9 years at Citizen TV.
At some point, Kanze seemed jittery as she referred to the journalists she was addressing as watazamaji (viewers). She quickly apologized noting that it was her first day in her new role.
In another instance, Kanze noticed she was rushing through her speech and urged reporters to stop her if they felt she was too fast.
Nonetheless, Kenyans viewing the presser on social media hailed praises on Kanze saying that she was doing an incredible job.
Watch how it went here.
