ODM Governor's legal advisor dies in Busia

May his soul rest in peace.

A former High Court Judge and advisor to Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong, Alex George Aluri Etyang is dead.

Mr Etyang died Sunday evening at Amukura Mission Hospital in Busia County, after a short illness. He had been rushed to the facility after collapsing at Kotur Village in Teso.

For over four years, the judge had served as Governor Ojaamong’s legal advisor, and was part of the team which was planning for the sendoff ceremony of former Dean Faculty of Natural Resources and Energy University of Eldoret, Professor Moses Imo.

“He was a brilliant legal mind who discharged his duties diligently at the bar and when I bought him on board to assist me on certain things in the county government,” governor Ojaamong said of the lawyer.

He added: "His unique life and contributions will be unparalleled in many years to come, a man who was once proud but also simple; soft and tenacious; determinedly obstinate and flexible; vain and shy; cool and impatient. He lived and died a Legal jurisprudent. "

Teso North MP Oku Kaunya described the late as a legal expert who was dedicated and hardworking.

“It's with great shock, I learnt of the untimely death of the Rt. Judge Alex George Aluri Etyang who upon his passing away was the legal advisor to the Busia county Governor Ojaamong The late Justice Alex was a committed, dedicated & hardworking while serving in High Court,” Mr Oku said via Twitter.
