Gikomba trader wins luxurious apartment in Safaricom’s MaishaNiMPESATu promotion [VIDEO]

Lucky man

James Njagi, a juakali artisan in Gikomba area, received the keys of his two-bedroomed master en suite apartment located in Kahawa West during a ceremony attended by Safaricom heads.

"M-PESA is convenient in our jua kali trade as the service enables us to receive payments from customers and to make payments for our business supplies.

"My frequent usage has contributed to my earning of multiple entries in the ongoing promotion. However, it was quite a surprise when I received the call from Safaricom that I had won the apartment," the 32-year-old said.

The event was broadcasted in a Facebook live hosted by Dr. Ofwenekwe.

"We met this man in Gikomba, flattening some drums," Ofweneke said.

Transformed

Njagi was accompanied by his wife, daughter, father, and mother as he was shown around the apartment by Safaricom's Financial Services Director Sitoyo Lopokoiyit.

Safaricom will be rewarding five more people, who are actively using their mobile money transfer application, with an apartment.
