NTSA Suspends Marimba Sacco After its crew killed former student leader

NTSA takes action

The regulator noted that the Sacco failed to adhere to some of the stipulated regulations in the operation of Public Service Vehicles and that any vehicle registered under the Sacco found operating contrary to the ban will be impounded.

The statement from the Director General, Francis Meja notes that the Sacco contravened the license given to them for failing to protect the harassment and murder of Joseph Kiarie.

NTSA noted that Regulation 10 (c) of the Operation of PSV Regulations 2014 places an obligation on the PSV operator to ensure that staff employed to work in the vehicles do not harass passengers or other persons.
