Power goes off in court during Kenya Power bosses case [VIDEO]

Coincidence?

The magistrate presiding over the case was forced to adjourn the bail application hearing for a few minutes after they were plunged into darkness.

Minutes after the power interruption, Kenya Power tweeted dismissing reports on power blackout. The energy firm attributed the power disconnection to internal wiring at the court.

"There has not been a blackout at the Milimani courts as reported by a section of the media. Our technical team has confirmed that electricity to the court is on and that the outage may have been occasioned by internal wiring," the statement read.

KPLC Managing Director Ken Tarus, former MD Ben Chumo and 11 other top managers were arrested over corruption-related charges.

The 14 are linked to the procurement of substandard transformers worth over Sh409 million.
