The ERC plans to deploy inspectors throughout the country to ensure that all solar heating system regulations are observed further urging home owners to stay vigilant in case of fraudsters.

“All ERC officers inspecting facilities have official identification badges and premise owners should request to see the badges. The ERC officers will use official ERC branded vehicles with blue number plates.”

An initial deadline for the installation of the solar system in households was set for May 25 2017 but was extended to allow home owners ample time to comply with the demands.

“Following the lapse of the deadline, the ERC is currently carrying out surveillance visits on buildings under construction and random spot checks on existing premises to ensure compliance with the regulations,” read the notice.

The deadline was extended for another 6 months as directed by the commission's director General Pavel Oimeke.
