Police have identified three Kenyans who sneaked to Somalia to join the Islamist terrorist group, Al Shabaab.
According to a circular by the National Police Service (NPS), the three were already in Somalia undergoing training to be Al Shabaab militia.
They include Mohamed Abdalla Asman alias Papa alias Raymond from Majengo in Nairobi, Hamisi Hemed alias Balotelli and Ali Ahmed Ali both from Malindi.
“The three are said to have sneaked out of the country early this month with the help of some local Al-Shabaab contacts whom we are pursuing," the Police statement read in part.
According to the Police intel, the trio was planning to come back to the country to stage a terrorist attack. It is said that the three were working with other terrorists within the country.
Police warned families members of the suspected terrorists against abetting crime noting that it would land them in jail. The families were encouraged to work with the police to save their children from terrorism.
