5 careless mistakes Uhuru made in 2017

Uhuru made some blunders in 2017 and he probably should avoid them in 2018

Being a General Election year, Mr. Kenyatta found himself in several controversial situations which Pulselive.co.ke compiled.

1. Dab Dance

This was the beginning of President Kenyatta’s troubles in February when he invited the popular FBI dancers to State House.

A meeting meant to sensitize the youth to register as voters in preparation for the August 8 General Election saw Kenyatta make it a presidential campaign for his Jubilee party, a move that was heavily condemned.

He took time to dab with the young funky dancers and this opened the floodgates of online attacks.

2. Snubbing the Presidential debate

Mr. Kenyatta gave the National Presidential debate ahead of the August poll a wide berth citing lack of prior consultation by the organizers.

According to Kenyatta’s team, his campaign timetable clashed with the National debate hence making it impossible for him to attend.

A section of the public did not take his absence from the presidential debate kindly with some speculating that it could affect his popularity during the poll.

3. Calling Maraga and co. wakora

After Supreme Court judges nullified the presidential results of the August 8 General, President Kenyatta went on a rampage calling them names.

The Head of State who was visibly angry publicly disagreed with the ruling and described the judges as cons.

4. Head of State Commendation Mishap

The recent Head of State Commendations (HSC) President Kenyatta awarded some Kenyans angered many after persons like Martin Kamotho commonly known as Githeri man appeared on the list.

The HSC list presented on Jamhuri Day was termed as biased with the President’s close associates like State house Communication Director Dennis Itumbi also receiving the award.

5. Uhuru Meeting suspected Anglo-Leasing mastermind

A section of the public criticized Mr. Kenyatta stating that meeting with Kamani was equivalent to speaking out of both ends of his mouth when it comes to matters corruption.

NTV news anchor Larry Madowo told off the President's Communication team stating: “The same Head of State who said it will no longer business as usual and every shilling would be accounted for mixing with a man whose name pops up in every corruption scandal is a new low.

“If his communications team got over their own self- importance and worried about optics, they would know that such a meeting should never happen, whether in public or private.

“How he is comfortable being photographed with such a man when his party has frequently railed against Nasa’s embrace of another well-connected “tenderpreneur”, Jimmy Wanjigi, is baffling,” Madowo said.
