RIP Wahome Gakuru.

Nyeri governor Wahome Gakuru died on Tuesday morning after a grisly road accident at the Kabati Makenji area on the Thika-Murang’a road.

According to police reports, the accident was caused by a tire bust which caused his vehicle to veer off the road.

President Uhuru Kenyatta as well as fellow politicians took to social media to send their condolences and eulogize the late governor. Here are some of their messages

The governor had earlier been rushed to the Thika Level 5 Hospital in critical condition after the accident.

Also on the vehicle were two of his security guards, his personal assistant and the driver.

The late Gakuru's body has been transferred to the Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi.
