Public Accounts Committee (PAC) have called for an investigation on various ministries over misappropriation of public funds.

In the Interior ministry, PAC wants individuals probed on the irregular award of the Ksh3.5 billion comprehensive group insurance cover for police and prison officers.

Legislators said that within three months of the adoption of a report by the Auditor General, the DCI and the EACC should initiate a thorough probe into the misuse of public funds.

The committee flagged the Health, Interior, Devolution and Public Service ministries for investigations.

Rachel Ruto is no stranger to making bold yet elegant fashion statements, but during the state visit of the Dutch royals on March 18, 2025, it wasn’t just her outfit that stood out—it was her shoes. The Kenyan First Lady stepped out in a pair of brown suede block heels adorned with a gold emblem.

Irregular procurement

PAC also wants the EACC to conclude the probe on the irregular procurement of Ksh800 million for portable clinics.

Notably, this is because the clinics are said to have been paid for before they were installed, commissioned and handed over, contravening the contractual agreement.

The Health ministry was also on the spot over the Sh4.6 billion used to rent medical equipment.

Meanwhile, the Devolution Ministry is to be investigated for the person responsible for the accounting office at the time Sh6.7 billion was paid for goods and services without supporting documents.
