Meet the 35-year old sole candidate at the Running Mates Debate

A look at the profile of little-known Muthiora Kariara who was the only candidate to show up at the Debate.

Eliud Muthiora Kariara, a name that was rather mysterious to many Kenyans but not until he showed up for the Running Mates Debate on Monday evening.

The 35 year old is the running mate to Independent Presidential Candidate Japheth Kaluyu Kavinga.

Muthiora happened to be the only candidate who turned up for the first session of the Running Mates' Debate which ought to have paraded six candidates who commanded less than five per cent popular support in opinion polls.

So who exactly is Muthiora Kariara?

Kariara was born in Isbania town in Kuria West, Migori County, and attended Kanga High School because his parents could not afford to take to Mangu High School where he had been admitted.

He scored an A-minus all the same and joined University of Nairobi to pursue a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) degree. He is currently pursuing an MBA at the same university.

The former employee of Consolidated Bank champions for a “tribe-all” nation and vows to unite Kenyans by all means.

He also promises zero tolerance on corruption and promises to jail hatemongers.
