I will reconcile Ruto and Raila – Mike Sonko promises
The Nairobi Governor who spoke at a funeral service in Wotea, Makueni County said that he will mediate reconciliation talks between the two leaders, together with church leaders in Nairobi.
A report by Citizen said that Sonko raised concern with the way the two leaders have been exchanging words publicly, saying that it was raising tension and the country was at a risk of violence.
He added that he will make sure the two leaders have a handshake.
“I am working together with church elders in Nairobi and I will ensure Raila Odinga and William Ruto also have a handshake,” said the Nairobi Governor.
Sonko also called on political leaders to stop engaging in the politics of 2022 and instead focus on serving their electorate.
“Let us stop focusing on 2022 politics and instead have a handshake lineup, I know if Raila and Deputy President William Ruto have a handshake, peace in Kenya will last for many years,” Sonko said.
