Nigerian pastor quizzed over murder of catholic priest in occultism

Winners Chapel pastor question over cult links

Nigerian pastor quizzed over occultism

A pastor from Winners Chapel was quizzed by police among people police believe are aiding the spread of occultism.

Reports by the Standard claimed that the pastor who is a Nigerian national was among clerics luring vulnerable Kenyans into cultism.

Officers stated that clerics who were probed have been leading some members into dangerous occult practices.

A team of detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters is leading the probe with recommendations for a multi-agency approach being suggested.

Rituals

Police pounced on the cult after the brutal murder of Catholic priest Fr Michael Kyengo in Embu on October 9 in a ritual.

Suspects told officers that the murder was part of a ritual which was meant to enable the killers to be promoted or recognized in a cult.

DCI George Kinoti warned about rising cases of cultism saying some people were forced to present human body parts to be allowed to join cults that promise money and fame.

Until we proscribe these groups, which remain secrets to us, we have to be proactive for now. Unfortunately, we are now dealing with killings that have happened,” Kinoti stated.
