The number of Kenyans who perished in the ill-fated Ethiopian Airlines crash has risen to 36.
Confirming the reports, Deputy Ambassador in Ethiopia George Orina said that four other Kenyans were found in the crash. He added that the four were travelling using foreign passports.
“The number has been revised since the four were travelling on the passports of other nationalities," explained Orina.
This comes a few days after the initial number of Kenyans who perished in the accident was recorded at 32.

Kenya had the highest number of passengers aboard the Boeng 737-800 MAX aircraft that had individuals from 34 countries.

Compensation
The new details come even as Ethiopian Airlines has decided to compensate families of the 157 victims who lost their lives in the crash.
In a report by Nation, the exact amount paid per lost person will between Sh17 million to Sh25 million and will also depend on the age, profession and the position one held in life.
The amount could increase if the airline is found to be at fault.
The Nation report said that the victims’ death certificates would be issued within the next two to eight weeks.
