Peter Njoroge Karanja

Peter Karanja, a suspect in the murder of businessman Tob Cohen has been re-arrested.

A warrant of arrest had been issued against the Businessman where he is facing charges of robbery with violence.

His arrest came shortly after the court allowed merging of his case with that of Sarah Wairimu over the murder of Tob Cohen.

Karanja was arrested at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi on Tuesday afternoon.

Charged afresh

His lawyer, Francis Mburu, claimed that his client’s life was in danger after he allegedly received unspecified threats from a Gilgil-based OCS.

The arrest came after the High Court rued to consolidate the files of Ms Wairimu and Mr Karanja's in the Cohen murder case.

The two also pleaded to the charge of killing the dutch billionaire, afresh.

State prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki had argued that the victim was the same and the particulars including dates of the offence, place and time were also the same.
