Police impound two luxury vehicles from a government official's compound

Range Rover discovered in a compound belonging to an official of the Nairobi City Council (Twitter)

DCI officers on Tuesday recovered a Range Rover and a Mercedes Benz disguised with motorbike registration numbers.

The two vehicles were impounded at a compound that belongs to an official in the Nairobi City Council government.

The identity of the official is yet to be revealed by the police.

The Range Rover and the Mercedes bore the number plates KBN 591A and KBG 330E respectively.

According to the police, two other number plates had been found in the boot of the Mercedes.

Stolen Range Rovers disguised as household goods

Two weeks ago, three stolen Range Rover vehicles had been recovered at the port of Mombasa labelled as household goods.

The three cars had been reported to have been stolen from Interpol’s motor vehicles data base in the United Kingdom and were being transported to Uganda.

KRA Commissioner of Customs and Border Control Kevin Safari had affirmed that the three vehicles had been nabbed during a custom clearance process.
