Uhuru told how to stop DP Ruto from becoming 5th President

The former lawyer to Uhuru has made a rare suggestion to Uhuru.

While he makes reference to a top story in one of his publication - Nairobi Law Monthly - the former lawyer to Uhuru Kenyatta, Ahmednasir Abdullahi‏ feels that anybody, with Uhuru particularly, can stop DP Ruto from acceding to the Presidency in 2022, “only through a strategy of ‘mutually assured destruction’...in which no one survives.”

The Magazine notes with concern that while DP Ruto’s wealth could be good political weapon, but his new “massive opulence could be his ruination.”

The only way to sink DP Ruto’s 2022 vessel, the magazine notes, was to have few elements in the government, who are allied to the DP face a thorough investigation related to corruption and misuse of public funds. This should include delegation of critical duties to DP Ruto’s enemies.

True to the word, a close ally to the President has confirmed that the head of state has in recent weeks allocated sensitive functions to various leaders other than his principal assistant – DP Ruto.

In President Kenyatta’s first term notably, DP Ruto conducted various international assignments on behalf of President Kenyatta.

Shortly after the two took office, President Kenyatta tasked the DP with the role of crisscrossing various African countries in a shuttle diplomacy mission to campaign against the ICC.

Ruto would later represent the President in various international conferences including summits meant for heads of state.

However, in the past three months, Ruto has not travelled abroad with most of the functions that he previously performed being designated to ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Raila Odinga in limelight

From the funeral of Winnie Mandela to peace mission in South Sudan, the ODM leader has been on the line, since the handshake, Jubilee Party Vice chairman David Murathe notes.

“It is the prerogative of the President to decide who will represent this country at whatever forum. Right now Raila is in India…people have different roles where they fit in this government,” the Jubilee Vice Chairman stated.

“Your best bet, it would appear, is to play the anti-corruption card. You will begin by nabbing and packing away a few fat cats from the top. If you could jail a few of these, the country might just begin adjusting to the possibility that there will be no sacred cows.

“Kenyans may even begin baying for his political blood. Hence, by the time you zero in on him, you will not be doing anything strange. If only one of the numerous allegations against him could stick, you could impeach him. You could then possibly – just possibly – lock him out of the race. And possibly is good enough, for now,” the magazine writes.
