State House inspiring message to Kibra MP Ken Okoth

State House on Tuesday issued a message of encouragement to Kibra MP Ken Okoth who is battling stage four colorectal cancer.

In her weekly, State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena-Mararo noted that the legislator had shown courage in battling the disease.

"In closing, allow me to mention a great son of Kenya, the Member of Parliament for Kibra Constituency Mheshimiwa Ken Okoth who has recently returned to the country after months of treatment in France.

"In the true Kenyan spirit of resilience, Mheshimiwa Okoth has shown immense courage in his fight against cancer. The Honorable Okoth's determination to defeat the disease is an inspiration to many Kenyans.

"As we wish Mheshimiwa quick recovery, we ask the country to support fellow Kenyans affected by cancer," the spokesperson stated.

Ms Mararo also briefed members of the press on President Uhuru Kenyatta's past and upcoming engagements including a scheduled three-day official visit by Botswana President Eric Mokgweetsi Masisi next Monday.

MP Okoth has been receiving chemotherapy treatment for his cancer in France, where his wife is a citizen, since February this year.

Kenyans have continued to show their solidarity with the MP through online messages and visits by various leaders.
