Deputy President William Ruto has waded into the raging debate on the conduct of Jubilee party officials that has seen MPs allied to him demand for the resignation of party secretary general Raphael Tuju for allegedly undermining the DP.

The debate was kicked off by Alice Wahome (Kandara), Laikipia Woman Rep Catharine Waruguru and Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika who cited a widely circulated audio clip featuring voices suspected to be those of Tuju and Kiambu politician George Nyanja, faulted Tuju for causing confusion that has rocked the party and demanded that he resigns.

Speaking in Trans Nzoia, DP Ruto issued a strict warning to Jubilee party officials, advising that their actions is against the party’s objectives and risk sinking the party.

DP Ruto warned that “The party officials in Jubilee must know that they are managing the party that is responsible for the development of our country.”

“Therefore our party officials I want to advise them not to be used to bring hate and breed hate and bring divisions and breed ethnicity in this party because that is against where we started with Uhuru Kenyatta.” Ruto said.

Ruto who was the chief guest at a fundraising event at Kipsis Secondary School was flanked by a host of local leaders including Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka.

His remarks come in the wake of a renewed push to kick out Tuju from his post by a team of legislators who accuse him of being a member of the ‘Stop Ruto movement’.

"He has betrayed a government we founded. There is a lot of confusion and division in Jubilee and the person responsible is Tuju. Let him resign," said Wahome.

On her part, Senator Kihika alleged that Tuju is colluding with outside parties to bring Jubilee on its knees, pointing out that he is behind the party’s problems.

She opined that the only solution to save party is by sacking the SG and urged President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to crack the whip on Tuju before it is too late.

"Tuju is responsible for the confusions in the party. He is out to finish JP and we are not going to allow it," said Kihika.
