Larry Madowo in fight with Jubilee MP

The two had argued about NASA protests.

Celebrated news anchor and journalist Larry Madowo began his New Year with a twitter fight with Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu.

The journalist, who is currently enjoying his holiday in Europe, took on Wambugu over the MP's past comments in a past interview.

Black Lives Matter

Wambugu had shared a post in support of the #Blacklivesmatter movement which campaigns against police violence against Americans of African heritage.

Rachel Ruto is no stranger to making bold yet elegant fashion statements, but during the state visit of the Dutch royals on March 18, 2025, it wasn’t just her outfit that stood out—it was her shoes. The Kenyan First Lady stepped out in a pair of brown suede block heels adorned with a gold emblem.

"Shine on your way Erica BlackLivesMatter ICantBreathe," the legislator tweeted.

However, Madowo was not impressed by the Jubilee MP's support for the American movement given that Wambugu had allegedly stated that he did not care about police killings against NASA protersters.

"So you care about innocent black people being shot dead by police in America but not innocent Kenyans being shot dead by police in Kenya?" the NTV show-host replied through his twitter account.

"Rogue" NASA

Not one to take the comment lying down, the vocal MP shot back, claiming that no innocent people were shot dead by police in Kenya and that NASA had gone rogue in their protests.

It was then that Madowo castigated Wambugu and wished him an honest 2018.

"This is demonstrably false and you know that. But I guess this cognitive dissonance allows you to condemn injustices far away in America while justifying the same injustices in Kenya. I wish you a happy, honest 2018," he retorted.
