Sabina Chege is comforted by other women leaders after breaking into tears

Muranga county Woman Representative Sabina Chege came face to face with the ugly side of the divisions in Jubilee after she clashed with a hostile crowd in Murang’a and broke into tears.

Chege who hosted several female MPs for an Embrace rally in the county was rudely heckled while on stage, prompting her to cut short her speech as she broke into tears.

As soon as the vocal legislator took to the podium, the crowd began heckling with some chanting DP Ruto's name.

Her voice was drowned in the jeers with her pleas failing to calm down the crowd prompting her to break into tears.

She blamed the incident on her political rivals, insinuating that the hecklers may have been deliberately planted in the crowd to embarrass her in front of her guests.

“I swear if you are here having being sent by somebody…I beseech you as your County mother, do not disrespect me in front of my guests.” She pleaded.

Her colleagues rushed to the podium to comfort and embrace her with the function interrupted for several minutes.

A few minutes later, a defiant Sabina Chege took to the podium and continued with her speech, unperturbed by the jeers.

She urged the public to support President Uhuru Kenyatta in his final three years in office.

“Do you love Uhuru or not? Do you want to shame him? Let us let Uhuru do his work, he has three years left and we will support him and his Ministers to do their job,” she said.

Among those present were Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, Women Representatives Gladys Wanga(Homa Bay), Fatuma Gedi (Wajir), Kigumo MP Wangari Mwaniki and Rachel Shebesh.
