Wild reactions after NASA senator’s tweet on retired President Moi
Kenyans have no chills
Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior said in his tweet that the former President should be honored for his service to the nation and his decision to peacefully hand over power after the 2002 general elections amid the loud chorus “Yote yawezekana bila Moi”
Kenyans on twitter did not take his words lightly and here is how they reacted;
@RobertAlai Handing over power AS PER THE CONSTITUTION is something you give awards for? So that will wash the sins he committed when he executed and jailed the innocent? Tuwache kalongolongo.
@CharlesKimuyu5 Surprised. Anyway, even the hangman is usually the best father to his family. I respect the old man, can't pray for his kind of leadership again. Pls guys spare the old man and let him age peacefully. He totally responsible for death of our economy in many ways.
@I_am_Gathoni Hell no. He should be happy he was allowed to live peacefully after all the ills he committed. No no!
@BWGathecha Totally agree with you, we should not launder bad leaders just because we were taught to respect our elders (even those who don't deserve an iota of it). He messed up big time, that's how he should be remembered
@CCmasitta Respectfully let me edit hii takataka you have written Former President Moi is lucky not to have been questioned on 24 yrs of NOTHING. Anywho, we thank him for his decision to peacefully hand over power after the 2002 elections amid the loud chorus “Yote yawezekana Bila Moi”.
@VKapeen A son must protect his father. That’s why we are proudly called “My Son”. But I disagree with him on Moi completely though he is one of my fav senators. He must protect the source of his father’s wealth (Morally)
@mtukufumimi Now this is a senator posting such rubbish. No wonder we are this backward. Moi sanctioned the building of Nyayo torture chambers, mismanaged our economy, grabbed land, illegally allocated forests, killed critics and you want us to forget that?
@AstronautKE The power was never his to decide to hand over or not. He was an elected president, not a King. To commend him for not turning into a dictator is to weaken the concept of democracy.
