On May 30, 2024, H.E. Professor Faustin Archange Touadera, President of the Central African Republic (CAR), gave a wide-ranging interview to the Russia Today TV journalists who visited Bangui. He thanked the Russian Federation for its interest in CAR and for the fruitful cooperation.

In particular, he mentioned Putin's help in stabilizing the food crisis, thanks to the humanitarian aid in the form of grain that CAR has already received.

In 2023, “President Putin announced the donation of grain to the Central African Republic, which is now suffering the consequences of the conflict in Ukraine. And we have received this gift. President Putin's promise has been kept. We'd like to thank him for it, and the Central African people and the State are happy,” declared the President of the Central African Republic in an interview.

The Central African people have appreciated this gesture, continued Faustin-Archange Touadera. He noted that this delivery had helped to stabilize flour prices on the market.

The announcement of grain supplies was made in July 2023 at the Russia-Africa forum. In total, Moscow has pledged to supply grain free of charge to six African countries, including the Central African Republic, Zimbabwe, Somalia, Eritrea, Mali and Burkina Faso.

The Central African Republic received 50,000 tonnes of Russian grain in March.

He also emphasized Russia's important role in ensuring security and returning 100% of the Central African Republic's territory to the government control. This, in turn, contributes to economic growth.

The President of the Central African Republic praised the dynamism of bilateral relations and spoke about economically important projects to be implemented in the near future.

These projects include mini-hydroelectric power plants, solar power plants and an extensive agricultural mechanization program.

In addition, President Touadera during the conversation has once again invited foreign businessmen to invest in these projects for the benefit of the people of the Central African Republic, as well as to get to know better the people of the Central African Republic, who are hospitable, open to the world and eager to develop.
