NASA leader Raila Odinga on Saturday announced his first official duty as the Peoples President will be to convene a national convention that will allow for constructive dialogue between stakeholders from all parts of the country.
Odinga added that his "government" will work in line with the constitution of Kenya and will seek to pursue the aspirations of the Kenyan people.
"We have already done the swearing in, we are the government. We will do our activities in line with the constitution of Kenya, we will have the People's Convention that will have representatives from every county and I will come you. I will be doing my duties as the People's President," Odinga stated.
The NASA leader made the statement in Vihiga when he addressed the first public gathering since taking the controversial oath of office. He was attending the burial of Justus Etale - the father of ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale.
At the same time, Odinga criticised the Jubilee government for the arrest of NASA leaders as well as the deportation of Opposition activist Miguna Miguna.
"The state had become rogue and has captured all the institutions of governance. They have captured and intimidated the Judiciary, the electoral commission, parliament, and they are using police to intimidate the people," he compalined.
