Khalwale reveals why Raila has stopped holding public rallies

Former Kakamega senator Dr. Boni Khalwale has revealed the reason why Opposition leader Raila Odinga has stopped holding public rallies.

In an interview with a local radio station, Khalwale said that Odinga’s appeal weakened after his Golden handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He added that Raila had already noticed that his political influence was diminishing and it was the reason he fears calling for rallies.

“You saw him hold a political rally in Kisumu in mid-March after entering into a peace pact with President Kenyatta. Did the Kisumu rally draw the thousands of followers he was used to? No. It flopped spectacularly,” said Khalwale.

Boni Khalwale further stated that many of Raila Odinga’s supporters were against him working with the Jubilee Government, and he should have understood what they wanted before the Handshake happened.
