Kethi Kilonzo shames Raila in surprise statement

The sharp lawyer has in the past supported Raila in top cases

Prominent Nairobi Lawyer Kethi Kilonzo has issued a rather surprise statement that has shamed NASA leader Raila Odinga and his deputy Kalonzo Musyoka.

Kilonzo, who has in the past been associated with the NASA leadership, criticised Odinga and Musyoka over their plans to swear themselves in at a controversial ceremony slotted for January 30th.

In an opinion piece published by the Standard, she termed the plan as unconstitutional and one meant to destroy Kenya as a Nation and its people.

“By proposing to form a government in exile, like the exiled leader of the secessionist movement in Catalonia has, NASA is aware that their proposed course of action threatens to cannibalise our Constitution, the nation and its people,” Kilonzo stated.

Khalif Kairo and his former business partner Clement Kinuthia are locked in a heated exchange of accusations, with Kairo now alleging that Clement not only cheated on his wife but also had an affair with his (Kairo’s) girlfriend. The car dealer also revealed that he is currently single, but will introduce a new lady once he resolves the issues surrounding his business.

The daughter of former Constitutional Affairs Minister Mutula Kilonzo advised the NASA principals to look for an alternative solution to achieve electoral justice.

“One of the mechanisms suitable for electoral justice is a popular referendum, like the once-hyped Okoa Kenya movement. The other is the dissolution of Parliament which as constituted is unconstitutional. There are many others,” Kethi advised.

Kethi’s elder brother, Mutula Kilonzo Junior, is the Senator for Makueni and also one of the top parliamentary leaders in NASA.

He has been silent on the plans to hold a parallel swearing in ceremony.
