Kenyans start protests over Bobi Wines’s torture in Uganda [Photos]

Kenyans living at the Busia border on Monday started protests against the arrest and torture of Ugandan singer Robert Kyagulanyi popularly known as Bobi Wine.

The angry demonstrators blockaded trucks heading to Uganda demanding the immediate release of Mr Wine, who is also the Kyadondo East Member of Parliament (MP).

At the same time, activist Boniface Mwangi informed Nairobians that there will be a demonstration in the City over the arrest of Bobi Wine.

According to the preliminary plans, residents will march to the Ugandan Embassy located on Riverside drive, Kileleshwa area to submit their petition.

“The people of Western l love you! Thank you for leading on this. Nairobi we are on for  on Wednesday, 22nd August. We are marching to the Ugandan Embassy on Riverside drive. The organising team will share more details,” activist Boniface Mwangi tweeted.

Thousands of Kenyans have signed petitions circulated on social media to demand the release of Mr Wine.
