Mwai Kibaki mourns Yvonne Wamalwa in special way

Rest In Peace Yvonne

"I learnt of the passing on of Yvonne with sadness, given how closely I worked with her husband. She not only demonstrated her selflessness service to the family but further dedicated herself in representing the country”, reads part Kibaki’s statement.

Kibaki added that passing on of Yvonne has robbed Kenyan a selfless leader who was a role model in her community and in the nation.

“The passing of Yvonne has robbed us of a selfless leader who was a role model in her community and in the nation. Hers was servant leadership. As an ambassador, it was always about the interests of Kenya. She served with the distinction the country needed,” Kibaki said in a statement on Friday.

Kenyan from all walks of life, led by President Uhuru Kenyatta took to social media to mourn Yvonne.“The passing of Yvonne has robbed us of a selfless leader who was a role model in her community and in the nation. Hers was servant leadership,” wrote President Uhuru

Yvonne, the widow of former vice president Kijana Wamalwa, died on January 25 in Nanyuki after a long illness, while living with her sister in Ichuga village.
