Deputy President William Ruto has said that the government does not recognize the swearing in of NASA leader Raila Odinga as the President of Kenya.
According to the DP, the election period is a ‘closed chapter’ further reiterating President Kenyatta’s win during the General elections.
“The people had decided on their leaders during the elections and that’s a closed chapter,” he was quoted by the Daily Nation.
Speaking during a church service at the Redeemed Gospel church in Buru Buru, the DP went on to state the government’s intentions of unifying Kenyans and focusing on the development of the country.

He further stated that the government would serve every Kenyan, including those that did not vote for the Jubilee government.
Also in attendance at the church service were Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa, Embakasi North MP James Gakuya, Starehe MP Charles Njagua and Maina Kamanda.
Raila Odinga is set to be sworn in on Tuesday January 30 at the Uhuru Park grounds.
Police boss Japheth Koome has however warned Kenyans not to step foot on the grounds claiming that the police have not received an official notice on any event taking place on Tuesday.
Raila was in Homabay County on Sunday, where he urged his supporters to attend the swearing in ceremony and told them that it would be a peaceful event.
