“ape in heels” Mayor in the US resigns over racist comments on Michelle Obama

A racist storm has been kicked on in the US following a racist exchange between a county official and the Mayor of the County.

The Mayor, Beverly Whaling resigned following the exchange after a meeting. The whole incident kicked off following Donald Trump’s victory and the pending move into the white house by the Trumps.

A county official Pamela Taylor who is a director of the Clay County Development Corp made a Facebook post in which she referred Michelle Obama as an ‘Ape in heels’.

She expressed her joy that finally they will have a “classy, dignified’ First Lady in the white house.

The Mayor responded to the official saying Pamela’s post had made her day. Here is the exchange;

Immediately the post began to be shared pressure mounted demanding the two ladies be relieved off their duties. Several hours after that Pamela Ramsey was immediately fired and she defended herself saying while her comments could be interpreted as racist that was never her intention.

On her part, the Mayor of Clay county Beverly Whaling sent a statement to media outlets saying

"I was referring to my day being made for change in the White House! I am truly sorry for any hard feelings this may have caused! Those who know me know that I'm not in any way racist!"
