The accused- Adebayo Segun, 27; Alaba Biobaku, 28; and Abiodun Riliwan, 20, were also alleged of stealing the sales’ boys goods and cash totaling N292,000.

The trio; all residents of  Agege, a Lagos suburb, are facing  conspiracy, breach of peace and assault charges.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Babaji Ishaku, said the accused and others still at large stabbed the complainants with broken bottles several times thereby causing them grievous bodily harm.

Ishaku told the court that the incident occurred on March 21 at 10.30 p.m. at Atobaje Junction, Agege.

He said the complainants, Hassan and Abdulazeez , were allegedly beaten by the accused and inflicted multiple injuries on them after stealing goods and money from their shop.

Ishaku said the complainants alleged that one of the accused, Segun, had earlier visited their shop to buy toiletries and while waiting to collect his balance became impatient.

He said that the accused then slapped one of the complainants and invited his other friends into the shop to beat up the complainants.

Ishaku also alleged that the accused stole a gold jewellery valued at N160,000,  N120,000 cash  and two mobile phones valued at N12,000.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 171 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.‎

The trio, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The magistrate, Mr J.A. Adegun, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 each with two sureties in like sum each.

He adjourned the case until April 28 for further hearing.
