Emerging reports indicate that Mr Ruto delivered the Sh10 million cheque to PAG headquarters in Nyang’ori, Vihiga County during a national pastors’ convention.
The money is set to cause division in the House of God as some men of the cloth opine that it is meant to woo congregants to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta during the repeat election.
However, General Superintendent Patrick Lihanda rubbished the remarks noting that the DP was simply helping the church in a development project.

“We are apolitical and the donation was part of a pledge by the government to the church for development".
A view that was also held by the Rev Tom Odego and Pastor Evans Nyamondi.
Matters took an interesting twist when Kisumu Town PAG pastor Nathan Ondego dismissed the existence of such a development project.
Speaking to journalists, Ondego highlighted that the project was a diversionary tactic being used to solicit money from politicians.
“As a Christian, I want to tell you the truth. There is no such project at the PAG headquarters. We only know of the building of the general superintendent’s house, which has so far consumed close to Sh90 million.

“We cannot sit and watch as pastors’ names are used to solicit money from politicians. Our membership should not be used for selfish personal gains," he said.
He sharply condemned leaders who received the donation from the DP adding that he could be excommunicated because of his position.
“You will soon hear that I have been thrown out of the church, but I will not allow PAG to be run like personal property,” he noted.
Rev Odego accused Pastor Ondego of planning to bring down the church.
“He has always wanted to bring this church down, but he must know the Lord is greater than him,” the leader stated.

DP Ruto donated the amount on September 14 where he said that it was an honour from President Uhuru Kenyatta.
