5 things you didnt know about the new Nyeri governor

Before the recently sworn in Nyeri governor, Mutahi Kahiga, rode in high end vehicles and had chase cars, he was a primary school teacher.

A lot has been said about the swearing of the Mutahi Kahiga but little is known about the man. Although he has been holding a public position for a significant time. he has kept his personal life under the wraps.

1) Head teacher

Before the recently sworn in Nyeri governor, Mutahi Kahiga, rode in high end vehicles and had chase cars, he was a primary school teacher. He taught little known schools such as karundas and Milimani primary schools. This was before he became the primary school teacher for Maragima primary school.

2) Jubilee party elections head

The governor was voted in to head the county August 8th elections for the Jubilee party. However, the elections turned violent as aspirants rejected the model used for nomination process.

3) KNUT official

Mutahi Kahiga rose ranks and spearheaded teacher's rights in Nyeri count. He held the position of executive secretary for 7 years.

4) Masters degree

Even though he began his career modestly, he furthered his studies and graduated with a masters in education degree in education

5) Family

At the end of the day, the governor retires to his 4 children
