Governor Ruto’s swollen face reveals the severity of the injury inflicted upon him by the police

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto was hit by a teargas canister during a scuffle at a football match in his county. The severity of his injury has now come out clear.

When Kenyans heard Governor Ruto had been airlifted to Nairobi to seek treatment after being injured by police during a confrontation, many didn’t understand why since demonstrators get hit by teargas canisters every now and often and they don’t even go to hospital to seek treatment.

But for the case of Bomet Governor, the police who fired the canister on him seemed to have ulterior motives; the canister hit Ruto just below his right eye.

Ruto suffered the injury when youth allied to him faced off with supporters of National Assembly Deputy Speaker-cum- Sotik MP, Joyce Laboso, during a football match between Bunge FC and Silibwet FC on November 6th.

Even Kenyans following the unfortunate unfolding of events in Bomet County felt petty for the governor after he sustained injuries to his face.
