Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has issued a warning on a fraudster using his name to con people.

The controversial MP asked Embakasi East residents to be alert not to fall victim to one Benard Omondi who was moving around coning unsuspecting residents promising them tenders using his name.

He also asked them to report to the police as soon as he approaches any of them for any tenders.

“Embakasi east residents should beware of this conman called Benard Omondi. He’s moving around using my name to con the residents their hard earned cash, promising them tenders. Kindly alert the police should he approach you,” he said in a tweet.

This comes just days after Igembe South MP who is also the youngest serving MP John Paul Mwirigi said fraudsters were using his name to con vulnerable residents who are looking for jobs by asking them to send money before they get the jobs.

Murang’a County Woman Representative Sabina Chege also fell victim after a con man claiming to be her borrowed money from Members of Parliament.
