Nairobi County police boss Japheth Koome has made a new announcement ahead of Raila’s swearing in.

Koome has declared that no one will be allowed at Uhuru Park on Tuesday.

National Resistance Movement (NRM) leader Raila Odinga is scheduled to be sworn in on Tuesday following the opposition’s rejection of President Kenyatta’s win.

“We are not going to allow people to travel from different parts of the country to come cause trouble in the city,” he said while addressing the press on Sunday afternoon.

He went on to warn anyone planning to attend Raila’s swearing in that by doing so they ‘would be opening up space for confrontations’.

According to Koome, the police were not given formal notice of any meeting that is to take place at Uhuru Park.

Elsewhere Odinga, on Sunday Afternoon addressed his supporters in Homabay County maintaining that the swearing in ceremony was going to be a peaceful one. He further urged them to turn up in large numbers for the event.

Shortly after being sworn in Raila is expected to select his Cabinet after declaring that President Kenyatta's government is illegitimate.

Raila's swearing in ceremony has been stalled a number of times since the declaration of Uhuru as President before eventually settling on Tuesday January 30th as the final and official date.
