Gymnast Wendy Waeni’s former manager Joe Mwangi has been released after spending five nights behind bars.

Mwangi was freed on a Sh100, 000 cash bail after denying forging a letter from Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i threatening the young acrobat’s mother Ms Magdalene.

His arrested followed an order by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) asking him to surrender but he failed to do that.

He was apprehended days later, after DCI launched a Manhunt for him in connection with the forgery of a letter purporting to be from Matiang’i.
