Some women are okay being seen as 'less educated' because they don't want to be single

Well so much for self-worth

A friend of mine was telling me how women are reportedly refusing to ‘soma sana’ because they won’t get a husband.

For curiosity’s sake, I decided to do a bit of research on my own and find out if this was actually true.

Well as it turns out, women are actually ‘dumbing’ themselves down in order to avoid remaining single forever – first of all forever is a bit exaggerated.

This is according to a research done by the University Of Leuven, Belgium which found that “highly educated women tend to react to the reversed gender gap in education by partnering down, while low-educated men rather than partnering up, tend to stay single more often”.

Why exactly do women feel the need to dumb themselves down?

An article written by The Wire tried to deduce why women would want to dumb themselves down and apparently men want someone who “isn’t ever going to let her career come before making dinner and pleasing them first” – okay.

Women with high intelligence in heterosexual relationships are allegedly seen as problematic but high intelligence in the male partner is not seen as problematic but more desirable.

So basically all the blood, sweat and tears put into funding a woman's education are going to go to waste because they want to make sure the man is comfortable enough to be in a relationship with them.
