Rachel Ruto is no stranger to making bold yet elegant fashion statements, but during the state visit of the Dutch royals on March 18, 2025, it wasn’t just her outfit that stood out—it was her shoes. The Kenyan First Lady stepped out in a pair of brown suede block heels adorned with a gold emblem.

Every woman has done the whole covering up with a towel over a hot basin of hot water to steam their faces.

Apparently doing this is supposed to open up the pores on your face and help get rid of dirt on your face. Too bad it doesn’t help that much though.

Yes, steaming can help soften the blackheads on your face but it won’t clear out your acne. The blocking of your skin’s pores happens when oil gets lodged in your pores. This then forms a blackhead, whitehead or a pimple.

While DIY face steaming may be inexpensive, it may be doing more harm than good. You do not know how much steam stimulation you need and whether your skin will react well to the steaming.

You may end up over steaming your face and leave your face dehydrated.

2.You can never go wrong with natural products

The natural movement has taken the world by storm. From the hair all the way up to the type of products we use on our faces and all this is great but it is great to use some of these natural ingredients with moderation.

Some natural products can actually counter what someone may be trying to achieve – which is usually a smoother, even skin.

Some of those natural ingredients can irritate your skin and leave your skin for worse.

3.Itching or a burning sensation on your skin means that it is working

Some people believe that when they feel pain or have a burning sensation on their faces whenever they use skin products then that must mean they are working.

You’re probably aware of the phrase ‘dawa sasa imeingia’ when you apply the skin products.

The products themselves warn users that if they experience burning sensations or irritated then you should stop using the product.
