New information has emerged on the state of Former President Mwai Kibaki’s health who has kept off public appearance in the past three months.
The former President had for the past three weeks been in the UK where he underwent what sources privy to the matter termed as a routine check-up.
“The former President left the country on the last Saturday of August for treatment abroad. It was for a check-up, having gone through surgery before, and the family felt there was no need to make it public because there was no cause for alarm,” the Standard quoted a source close to the Kibakis.
Upon arrival in Nairobi on Tuesday evening, Kibaki was received by close family members and was described as being in a jovial spirt.
Kibaki’s last public appearance was in April when he held talks with ODM Leader Raila Odinga and other officials.
