ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna has come out to officially clarify that Jubilee Secretary-General Raphael Tuju is not part of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's advisory team.

Speaking in Migori on Monday, Mr Sifuna stated that there was no need for CS Tuju's input within the party.

“We are satisfied with the political advisors we have in ODM, and I see no need of roping in Mr Tuju, who is a member of another political outfit," he stated.

Sifuna accused DP Ruto of spreading propaganda adding that it will only have a negative impact on service delivery to Kenyans.

The Tuju debate

The CS without portfolio is said to be a key strategist for both President Uhuru Kenyatta and former PM Raila Odinga, according to a report published on Nation.

Tuju sparked further debate after he was fiercely defended by Siaya Senator James Orengo during a recent rally in Rarieda constituency.

"As it stands today, Tuju is a very critical player in the governance of this country…If you attack Tuju, you attack one of us," Orengo stated.
