Former Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech is mourning the death of his mother Mary Auma popularly known as Mama Oliech.

Mama Oliech who has been battling cancer died on Friday at her Lavington home after she developed breathing complications.

According to her son Nickson Onywanda, they were preparing to take their mother to hospital when she succumbed and her body has been taken to Umash Funeral Home.

“She fell ill and we were preparing to take her to hospital but she passed away before we could do that,” said Onywanda who spoke to the Standard.Mama Oliech’s death comes days after the former Harambee Stars striker was appointed to the Nairobi County Sports Committee by Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko, alongside Musa Otieno.
