Speaking to Italian newspaper La Stampa, Pope Francis addressed the cultural perspective in Africa, stating,&nbsp;"Africans consider LGBT as bad for them from a cultural point of view. Acknowledging the pushback, especially in Africa, where same-sex relationships can lead to severe legal consequences, Pope Francis highlighted the need for priests to consider the context, sensitivities, and appropriate ways to administer the blessings.

Last week, the pontiff acknowledged the resistance to the document, particularly in Africa, where bishops effectively rejected it. In response, he urged priests to&nbsp;"naturally take into account the context, the sensitivities, the places where one lives and the most appropriate ways to do it."

Addressing concerns about a potential split within the Catholic Church due to his reforms, Pope Francis dismissed the idea, stating,&nbsp;"We must leave them to it and move on… and look forward."&nbsp;

He expressed confidence that any talk of a split was driven by&nbsp;"small groups"&nbsp;and emphasized the Church's commitment to inclusivity rather than division.

In November 2021, Jacob took off on a solo flight from a Santa Barbara, California airport, equipped with cameras on his plane, a parachute, and a selfie stick. The plan was not to reach his destination but to eject from the aircraft mid-flight, recording himself parachuting as the plane descended and crashed into the Los Padres National Forest 35 minutes after take-off. Jacob hiked to the crash site, recovered the footage, and uploaded the video titled&nbsp;"I crashed my airplane"&nbsp;to YouTube on December 23, incorporating a promotional segment for a wallet company.

Some viewers raised doubts about the authenticity of the crash, noticing that Jacob was already wearing a parachute and did not attempt to safely land the plane.&nbsp;

Jacob reported the crash to the National Transportation Safety Board, claiming he didn't know the location. However, he later returned by helicopter, located and removed the wreckage, and ultimately destroyed it.&nbsp;

The video garnered nearly three million views before being taken down.&nbsp;

In a statement, Jacob expressed humility and acknowledged the court's decision as the right one.

Richard Kioko Kiundi, popularly known as 'The Duke of Emali', according to Afrimax English, was once a billionaire living luxurious life with his family in Canada before he decided to return to Kenya to connect with his roots.

He had attended good schools in his early years thanks to his parents. After graduating from the university, he worked in the country's civil service for years.

Interestingly, he visited Nairobi, Kenya’s capital one day and while having a drink at a popular bar, he met a man who was an accountant like himself. During their interactions, he told the stranger that Nairobi was too expensive and that he wasn’t interested in working there.

That was a turning point for&nbsp;Kioko Kiundi. The stranger asked how much would be enough to entice him to relocate to Nairobi to work, and he mentioned quadruple 4500 shillings, his then salary.

Surprisingly, without hesitation, the man asked him to come and see him in his office, and that was how he got a higher-paying job at Toyota Kenya.

Having worked for Toyota Kenya for years, he later joined Kenya Pipeline, ostensibly for better conditions. This job too, he got in a bar while chatting with another stranger in a drinking bar.

Kioko Kiundi was living well until&nbsp;February 2013, when he felt a pain in his chest while walking in the streets of Nairobi. After several medical examinations, it came to light that he had a mild stroke.

Realising that he was not getting a permanent solution to his predicament in Kenya, he decided to fly to India for treatment. Unfortunately, his insurance companies refused to pay bills for the treatment because it was a chronic disease. He had to carry the financial burden alone, which drained him.

He was compelled at a point to sell his company to raise money for his healthcare but was still indebted to some people. Failing to pay his debts, the creditors seized and auctioned his cars.

Kioko Kiundi’s life continued on a downward spiral till he lost virtually all his wealth. Although he survived the stomach cancer, he is now a shadow of his former glory.

However, he doesn’t want to remain fallen; he has put all his life experiences together into a book he titled&nbsp;“Through The Wilderness Of Life”, which he goes around selling in the streets to make ends meet.&nbsp;

His only challenge is that the people who need his book to learn life lessons can’t afford it. He has donated a lot of copies to schools although it cost him a lot of money to print them.

The brilliant man who is reported to have won twenty-six cases in court despite not being licensed to practice law, is expected to enter a plea to the charges the Kenyan authorities have proffered against him.

Mwenda had been arrested a day earlier by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and interrogated at the headquarters for posing as a lawyer. After many hours of questioning, he was freed on a KSh 100,000 bail from the police and told to appear in court to enter a plea today.

Meanwhile, Mwenda, speaking days after news of him went viral thanked his supporters and assured them that in the fullness of time, he would prove his innocence when he had his day in court.

The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) had issued a statement, saying Mwenda managed to access its portal illegally, find an account with a name that matched his, alter the information, and submit his photo, all in a bid to enter the legal profession in Kenya.

The LSK said it convened an emergency meeting on Wednesday to initiate an urgent investigation into how Brian Mwenda was able to get past LSK security and take on the persona of a legitimate attorney.

The security breach only got to the attention of LSK after a legitimate lawyer with a similar name, Brian Mwenda Njagi reached out to its secretariat on September 28 to complain about the inability to access the membership portal.

A preliminary investigation by ICT personnel at the LSK blew the cover of Mwenda.

Mwenda has been reported to the Kenyan Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) following a discovery that he had been masquerading as a lawyer when he did not have a practising license.

Reports say he had managed to beat the system and practised law for years, arguing cases before many judges at various levels of Kenya’s courts before he was recently arrested.

Mike Sonko, in the video, reminded the country’s authorities that Mwenda remains innocent until proven guilty.

Speaking for the first time after his arrest, Mwenda thanked his supporters and assured them that in the fullness of time, he will prove his innocence when he has his day in court.

Following his arrest, <a data-link-role-code="open_new_tab" href="https://www.pulselive.co.ke/news/local/how-to-use-the-lsk-portal-to-identify-licensed-practising-lawyers-in-kenya/63h8c17">the Law Society of Kenya (LSK)</a> issued a statement, saying Mwenda managed to access its portal illegally, find an account with a name that matched his, alter the information, and submit his photo, all in a bid to enter the legal profession in Kenya.

A preliminary investigation by ICT personnel at the LSK found that the legitimate lawyer was unable to access his membership site since the information in the system, especially his email address, did not belong to him.

“On the 5th Day of August 2022, Brian Mwenda Ntwiga was admitted to the Bar and his correct email address was captured and an Account opened for him in the Advocates portal.

“We reached out to Advocate Brian Mwenda Ntwiga who confirmed that he had not applied for a practicing certificate since his admission, reason being that he had been working at the Office of the Attorney General and did not require a Practising Certificate.

“It was only until sometime in September 2023 when he attempted to login into the system and activate his profile with the intention of applying for his Practising Certificate that he realized he could not access his LSK Portal.

“The preliminary findings indicate that the masquerader applied the use of a common international fraud scheme known as Business Email Compromise (BEC) where a criminal in this case Brian Mwenda identified a genuine advocate status as being inactive, made contact to the secretariat to make an application for payment of his PC but which he couldn't because his email credentials are incorrect.

“Upon being allowed access to the account, he took control of the portal and changed his profile picture, the workplace and applied and paid for the practicing certificate. However, his application was not processed since he was required to provide documents including the certificate of business incorporation,”&nbsp;the LSK statement said.

The statement added that the Council of the Law Society in Kenya has always been worried by the activities of imposters parading as lawyers, so the matter has been reported to the country’s Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The LSK maintained that Brian Mwenda must face the rigours of the law despite overwhelming public support for him, with calls for him to be certified to practice the law because he has proven to be even more adept at the legal profession than the trained ones.

Last week, news broke about the handsome young man being arrested for practising law in Kenya and winning all 26 cases he had handled, although he didn’t have the training and license.

The EL MOLO, known as the hunters of the Jade Sea is one of the over 70 tribes in Kenya, mainly dwelling in a small village on the shores of Lake Turkana in the south of Loiyangalani at Masarbit south district of Kenya’s northern Eastern Province. They are also known by other names, including&nbsp;Elmolo, Dehes, Fura-Pawa and Ldes.

It is reported that El Molo are just 99 in population, comprising men, women and children. Their language is El Molo, belonging to the Cushitic branch of the Afro-Asiatic&nbsp;language&nbsp;family.

El Molo people are noted to be a unique tribe because of their cultural, customary and spiritual beliefs, one of which is that when a baby is born, someone else must die to keep a balance between life and death.

Afrimax English visited the El Molo community recently to shed light on their culture, livelihood, and access to necessary amenities among others.

It is the belief of El Molo people that their population must not exceed ninety-nine (99) people, so as children are being born, some people who have had the chance to live must die to keep the population below 100.

Once a baby is born, the elders of the tribe are consulted and those who have lived long and fulfilling lives are chosen to die. They accept to die in good fate because it’s deemed to be a recognition of the life cycle and respect for their ancestors who passed on the customs and beliefs to them.

According to them, the spirits and the cosmos guide them in deciding who dies next. It is unclear if the chosen people die naturally or how they give way to the new babies.

Afrimax English reports that at one point, their population reached hundred (100) but it didn’t last for 24 hours because it was considered a sacrilege. It is unclear how it was quickly rectified.

Since nobody knows who will die after a child is born to keep the El Molo population in check, they are always virtually sitting on tenterhooks. Interestingly, if someone falls ill during the period of the child being born, he or she becomes restless even if he or she is not the one appointed to die.

Known for being very spiritual and worshipping of WAAK/WAHK, El Molo are mostly fishermen who depend on the lake Turkana for food and livelihood.

Frequent droughts, lack of farming lands, good drinking water and food reportedly make it difficult for their community to contain more people. It is unclear if these informed their ancestors to place a ceiling on the population, which was bequeathed to them.

Cat Loaf Software, an app development company in Los Angeles is behind the latest app. Reports say it features many biblical characters, from Jesus to Judas and the rest of the apostles, and even First Testament protagonists like Ruth, Job, and Abraham’s nephew, Lot.

The app, which was launched recently has been receiving numerous mixed reactions, with some Christians saying its development could amount to blasphemy, while others make fun of the app and how it impersonates the biblical characters.

According to Stéphane Peter, CEO of Cat Loaf Software,&nbsp;Text with Jesus&nbsp;is just another way to explore the scriptures of the Bible. However, some people are not buying that explanation.

Some of the concerns raised about the app include that Jesus, for instance, has supposedly been speaking in a stiff manner, while many other religious leaders impersonated have been trained to steer clear of controversial topics like gender identity, pronouns, and sexual orientation.

“I updated it so it can speak more like a regular person and ensured it didn’t forget that it’s supposed to get stuff from the Bible. It’s a constant trick to find the right balance,”&nbsp;Odditycentral.com quotes Peter to have said in reaction to some of the concerns raised about&nbsp;Text with Jesus.

The app is basically&nbsp;ChatGPT which has been trained on the Bible. After inviting numerous church leaders to test out a beta version of it, Cat Loaf Software reportedly made several enhancements, including adding Bible chapter and verse references to the app.

Meanwhile, Text with Jesus contains certain functions for generating revenue. For instance, a monthly charge is necessary to unlock some of the listed Biblical figures if users want to chat with them. It charges $2.99 per month to access Mary Magdalene for instance.

Some critics claim that developing such an app might cause a belittling of Christianity and some of the biblical characters such as Jesus who are considered sacred.

“Some men think repeated masturbation or certain sex positions like doggy style will enlarge/lengthen the penis. My brother, don’t die before your time. What you have right now is ALL you will have. Spend your energy on using it properly, rather than waste money on buying lies,” he cautioned.

The miraculous incident happened in Colombia, where the youngsters have been reportedly found surviving in the Amazon forest after over a month of frantic search.

On May 1st, 2023, an engine malfunction forced a small Cessna 206 aircraft bound for San Jose de Guaviare to crash in the middle of one of Colombia's most inhospitable and hazardous locations. The disaster claimed the lives of the pilot and three other adults, but miraculously all four of the children on board survived. However, they were stuck in a jungle with hazardous snakes, spiders, and mosquitoes, where ex-Farc military men are still present, with little to no supplies, reports say.

Search parties, including volunteers, took the trouble to frantically comb the forest for the little siblings, a task that lasted them forty days before they finally found the kids last week in a clearing. This was after all hopes of finding them were almost dying.

Search parties sprung into action after the crashed plane together with three bodies, including the siblings’ mother was found in one of the thickest spots of the rainforest on May 16.

In a bid to find the kids, hundreds of volunteers joined the search for them, combing various parts of the forest and launching supplies kits in an area of 323 sq km.

"The military was particularly involved in the rescue efforts, using helicopters to scan the jungle and hundreds of soldiers on the ground. They distributed over 10,000 flyers and hundreds of food kits, even in areas that the four siblings couldn’t possibly have reached on foot. In the end, 40 days, after the plane crash, a search party heard the cries of baby Cristin, who turned one during this ordeal and found the four siblings in a clearing about 3 miles from the plane crash," according to odditycentral.com.

Authorities have praised the boldness and intelligence of the oldest of the surviving kids, thirteen-year-old Lesly Mukutuy for her leadership in the forest and care for her younger ones.

Although they have not been able to recount their experience about the entire traumatic incident yet, it is believed that Lesly's knowledge about plants and the dangers of the forest from their grandmother made her identify edible fruits, find water sources and avoid dangerous animals over the forty days they were helpless in the forest.

“We have to recognize not only her bravery but also her leadership. We can say that it was because of her that her three younger siblings could survive by her side, thanks to her care and her knowledge of the jungle,” the Colombian minister of defence, Iván Velásquez is quoted to have told journalists.

The youngsters are expected to be reunited with their family members who obviously can't wait to receive them, after being treated at a hospital in Bogota.

According to <a href="https://www.pulse.ng/">Pulse Nigeria</a>, the death of the Nigerian man identified only as Taye occurred at Idi-Oro, in the Mushin area of the country's Lagos State on Saturday, June 10, 2023.

An eyewitness identified only as Junior, recounted the incident, saying Taye was behaving erratically and was seen lying by the roadside while it was raining heavily. He added that some neighbourhood security officials attempted to make him leave the road, only for him to later hug the electric power hub, leading to his fatal electrocution.

“I heard he was roaming about and just went to hug the transformer. He was putting on red boxers. I don’t know what exactly happened but people said he took Colorado.

“Before he staggered into the transformer, he was lying by the roadside while it rained for about three hours. The neighbourhood security officials chased him off the road so he could take cover because of the rain and as they were chasing him, he went to hug the transformer. It happened around noon," Junior is quoted to have said.

Another resident of the area who pleaded anonymity said Taye’s corpse was removed and taken away by his family members.

“You know when you drink that thing, you will be out of control. He was staggering and before you know it, he went to the transformer. Before it started raining, people were able to control him but when it started raining, everybody had to find their way and that was when it happened. The guy has a twin sister but his name is Taye. His parents came and carried his corpse,” the second witness said.

Reports say the said transformer has since been barricaded with ropes.

The man of God, Seraki Kemmonye Seraki, from Botswana - a polygamist himself, took to his Facebook wall as a medium to send his prayer to God.

“My prayer for all the hard-working men out there! May God reward you with another wife,” he wrote on his Facebook page on Sunday, June 11.

Seraki is reported to have disclosed his plans to marry a third wife, who he said would be his final one.

His post has triggered mixed reactions, with some men saying amen to the prayer, while others, including women, say the popular pastor was out of order.

As the debate heightened, he returned to his Facebook page to clarify that the prayer was not generic, but was meant for only hardworking men.

"Not 'all' men, only hard-working ones Lord! The women complaining are passing a vote of no confidence on their men, this was a trap!" Seraki emphasised.

He could not understand why women were unpleased with his call on 'hardworking men' to become polygamous. According to him, the conversation he initiated was for only men and it was out of place for women to participate.

"The challenge we have today as the body of Christ is women who talk when they are supposed to be silent! Today's word was for Heads of the house!" he wrote.

In a related story, an 82-year-old pastor claimed that he was 203 years old before Jesus came, and he was even the one who consecrated him to start his mission of saving the world.

According to the Kenyan preacher, Ronald Wanyama, he is 82 years old now because he died after living in Israel for 230 years. The founder of Muungano Church of All Nations in the East African country’s Kanduyi constituency said he was born in Egypt, but after five years, he relocated to Israel where he lived for over two centuries.

“I was born in Egypt and after five years, I went to Israel, where I lived for 230 years. I later went back to my creator. I prepared the way for Jesus. I was 203-year-old the time Jesus came. I consecrated him to begin his work before I went to heaven,” Wanyama is quoted to have said.

He went further to claim that when Jesus died, he handed over his powers to him, which he uses now to perform miracles.

“I am the way, the truth, and the last prophet sent by God to save mankind from corruption, homosexuality, and bad governance. When Jesus Christ was crucified, he gave me the power to raise the dead,” he said.

Popularly known as Nabii Yohana V, Wanyama is reported to have said in an earlier interview that God had given Jesus 109 years to carry out his mission on earth, but he was crucified prematurely. He added that after the departure of Jesus, God asked him (Wanyama) in 1941 to finish Jesus’ ministry, an assignment he believes he has done a considerable part of and still continues.

“I have attended to over 70,000 people from all over the world who come to me with different problems that I have solved.

“I do not charge anything for my services here. When one is healed and feels like rewarding me, then I accept but I don’t demand any payments. All my teachings are linked to the bible. I am the only man of God who is set to change the gospel of this world,” he is quoted to have told The Standard.

Wanyama has also claimed to be married to 46 women and sired 289 children.

He uses a 93-book bible written by him to preach to his congregation.

According to the BBC, Rajesh Vishwas, the food inspector dropped his Samsung phone, worth about $1,200 (100,000 rupees), into Kherkatta Dam, in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh, on Sunday.

However, Rajesh’s action triggered angry reactions, which got the attention of the water resource department. An official from the agency arrived on the scene and ordered a cessation of the draining exercise.

Chhattisgarh State opposition BJP party’s national vice-president who was unhappy about the development took to Twitter to condemn Rajesh’s action which is considered an abuse of power.

“When people are depending upon tankers for water facility in scorching summers, the officer has drained 41 lakh litres which could have been used for irrigation purpose for 1,500 acres of land,”&nbsp;the politician wrote.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Shukla, a Kanker district official, told The National newspaper that Rajesh has been suspended and is facing an enquiry.

“He has been suspended until an inquiry. Water is an essential resource and it cannot be wasted like this.”

The disgruntled official has denied deliberately wasting abusing his power and wasting water, saying the portion of the dam that he emptied was not in usable condition.

The unnamed Brazilian doctor’s troubles started on May 18th, when Priscila da Silva Ramos, a 37-year-old mother from Osasco, in Greater São Paulo, took her son to a state-owned clinic for a checkup.

According to her, when she saw the doctor writing drugs like amoxicillin, ibuprofen, dipyrone, prednisolone, and N-acetylcysteine, as well as ice cream and daily sessions of gaming on the prescription form, it didn’t occur to her that he was serious.

She added that it was only the next day after visiting the hospital that the boy’s aunt noticed the ice cream and video game in the last two lines at the bottom of the prescription form.

The prescription form was then filmed and posted to Facebook, which sparked mixed reactions, with some people saying the doctor’s prescription was not entirely out of place, while others say it was out of the ordinary.

The City Hall of Osasco is reported as saying the said doctor has been dismissed.

Responding to the concerns about the controversial opinion in the book, the Deputy Spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Yaw Opoku Mensah JoyNews that the book in question was not the official one approved by the NaCCA.

According to him, the approved version of the book did not have the section in question.

However, the Executive Director of the Institute for Education Studies (IFEST), Dr Peter Anti challenged Opoku Mensah’s assertion.

“There is a published document of about 66 pages that lists all the books that have been approved by NaCCA and this document is there. It’s on page 56, so this book is approved,”&nbsp;myjoyonline.com quotes him as saying.

He called the blacklisting of the publishers and further punish them if what they published is truly different from what NaCCA had approved.
